The Easy Breezy Super Chunky Beanie features a subtle ribbed texture and a fold over brim. The ribbed texture is from working your HDC stitches in the back loop only. The beanie is worked as a rectangle in vertical rows then sewed up the create a tube, then cinched at the top! The bottom is then folded to create the brim. The brim is about 2-3″ tall but you can make it longer, shorter, or have no brim at all by simply adjusting your starting chain and how many stitches you work across.
The Easy Breezy Super Chunky Beanie uses super bulky (6) weight yarn, which creates a super thick and cozy beanie! Thick yarn makes this pattern work up fast and also create a super warm beanie that’s perfect for cold, winter days! I used Lion Brand Yarn Wool Ease Thick & Quick in the color Fisherman but this yarn comes in a variety of beautiful colors. This yarn is a great choice for this project, as it’s affordable and since it’s a wool/acrylic blend, it makes for a comfortable and warm beanie!
