Inspiration
When I first designed the Easy Breezy Ribbed Beanie, I was looking to create a very simple and easy to follow crochet hat. At this time I was selling finished items in my Etsy shop and wanted something I could whip up quick! I was also still in my early stages of designing so kept it simple as I was still learning how to design a pattern. This pattern has since been one of my best selling, both the pattern itself and finished beanies! I no longer sell finished items but I still make Easy Breezy Ribbed Beanies all the time for gifts and for my own family!
One of my favorite baby shower gifts to give is a wee little Easy Breezy Ribbed Beanie and a matching Bebe Baby Blanket! Both these crochet patterns work up super quick and make for a great handmade gift! You can find the free crochet pattern for the Bebe Baby Blanket HERE!
Features
The Easy Breezy Ribbed Beanie features a subtle ribbed texture and a fold over brim. The ribbed texture is from working your HDC stitches in the back loop only. The beanie is worked as a rectangle in vertical rows then sewed up the create a tube, then cinched at the top! The bottom is then folded to create the brim. The brim is about 2-3″ tall but you can make it longer, shorter, or have no brim at all by simply adjusting your starting chain and how many stitches you work across.
I hope you all love this Easy Breezy Ribbed Beanie pattern as much as I do! It’s so versatile and with it’s unisex design and adjustable sizing, you can seriously make these for anyone!
Easy Breezy Collection
At this moment the Easy Breezy Collection consists of 6 patterns! There are 5 beanie patterns: the Easy Breezy Chunky Beanie, Easy Breezy Super Chunky Beanie, Easy Breezy Bun Beanie, and the Easy Breezy Chunky Bun Beanie. Then there is one scarf/cowl pattern, the Easy Breezy Scarf.
There are two bun beanies, the Easy Breezy Bun Beanie and the Easy Breezy Chunky Bun Beanie, which have holes on the top so you can fit your ponytail or bun through! They’re the perfect beanie for anyone who wants to keep their head warm but their hair up! There are 3 regular beanies the Easy Breezy Ribbed Beanie, Easy Breezy Chunky Beanie, Easy Breezy Super Chunky Beanie. Each of these beanies use a different weight of yarn so you can make a beanie no matter what yarn is in your stash or what thickness of beanie you want!
Is there any other patterns you’d like me to add to the Easy Breezy Collection? Let me know what else you’d like to see! I love making these simple yet beautiful patterns and would love to add onto the collection!

Notes
- Pattern is split up between baby, child, and adult sizes. Instructions are for size small first, followed by the next size up in parenthesis.
- All sizes are written as a standard fit beanie. I have added in a recommended length to make a slouchy fit for the child and adult sizes, but you can adjust the size to any length you like! Simply make your initial chain longer or shorter. Standard fit stitch count will be in parenthesis first, followed by the slouchy fit stitches.
- Beginning chains do not count as stitches throughout the whole pattern. At the end of each row, chain 1 and turn, work the first stitch into the last stitch from the previous row.
- The number in parenthesis at the end of each row represents the total number of stitches to be worked in each row.

Hi question on last step. It says front loop to foundation chain but on YouTube it looks like you are picking up the back row loop? Help
Hi Donna! It is the front loop, it may look like the back loop because you can see the 3rd loop from the HDC on the front but you work into the front loop! Hope that helps!
