Yarn
For my spa headband and wristband, I used Bernat Blanket Yarn in the color Shadow Purple.
This yarn is a super bulky 6 weight yarn and is very soft and squishy chenille yarn. It’s machine washable and can be put in the dryer too!
You can substitute with any super bulky 6 weight yarn you’d like. Some other chenille yarns are Bernat Baby Blanket, Yarn Bee Cozy Occasion, Loops & Thread Chenille Home Slim, Loops & Threads Sweet Snuggles Lite, or Premiere Basics Chenille.
Sizes
The instructions are for one size of headband and wristband, which should fit most adult women. Both the headband and wristbands can easily be adjust though.
To adjust the length or circumference of the headband and wristband, simply repeat row 2 as many times as needed to get you desired size.
To adjust the width of the headband and wristband, make your foundation chain however long needed to get your desired width.
The spa headband and wristband can be made for anyone, any age, and any size! If making for someone specific, it’s always best to get their measurements to ensure perfect fitting. Also be sure to check your gauge (included below) to ensure proper sizing.

NOTES
- Numbers in (parentheses) at the end of each row represent the number of stitches to be worked in that row.
- Starting chains do not count as stitches.
- To adjust the size of the headband or wristbands:
- Length (circumference): repeat row 2 as many times as necessary until your desired length is reached.
- Width: chain any number to get your desired width.
SUPPLIES
- Super Bulky 6 Weight Yarn (I used: Bernat Blanket Yarn)
- Headband – 36 yards (33 meters)
- Wristbands (x2) – 21 yards (20 meters)
- 8.00 mm (L) crochet hook
- Yarn Needle
- Scissors
ABBREVIATIONS (US TERMS)
ST(s) – Stitch(es)
CH – Chain
HDC SL ST – Half Double Crochet Slip Stitch
How to Half Double Crochet Slip Stitch
- Yarn over, insert hook into stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop, pull that loop through the 2 loops on your hook.
- Also Known As: a yarn over slip stitch
- Tips: try and keep stitches loose so it’s easier to work back into. Be sure you’re working into the top 2 loops of the stitch, not the 3rd loop on the front.
Spa Headband Pattern
CH 8
Row 1: HCD SL ST in 2nd CH from hook. HDC SL ST in each CH across. CH 1 & turn. (7)
Row 2: HDC SL ST in each ST across. CH 1 & turn. (7)
Rows 3-42: Repeat Row 2 until the end of Row 42 or until desired length is reached.
Cut off yarn leaving a 10” long tail.
Fold headband in half, bringing the 2 short sides together. Using the long tail end and a yarn needle, whip stitch the ends together.
To whip stitch: insert yarn needle through the top of the stitch and draw through both layers. Insert needle into the next stitch and repeat across.
Secure with a few knots, weave in ends, and flip headband right side out (so the seam is on the inside).
Spa Wristband Pattern
Make 2
CH 6
Row 1: HCD SL ST in 2nd CH from hook. HDC SL ST in each CH across. CH 1 & turn. (5)
Row 2: HDC SL ST in each ST across. CH 1 & turn. (5)
Rows 3-16: Repeat Row 2 until the end of Row 16 or until desired length is reached.
Cut off yarn leaving an 8” long tail.
Fold wristband in half, bringing the 2 short sides together. Using the long tail end and a yarn needle, whip stitch the ends together.
To whip stitch: insert yarn needle through the top of the stitch and draw through both layers. Insert needle into the next stitch and repeat across.
Secure with a few knots, weave in ends, and flip wristband right side out (so the seam is on the inside).
