Inspiration

In 2021 my friend Ashley of A Crafty Concept asked if I would like to be a guest poster on her blog! I have been a fan of Ashley’s blog for a long time so of course I said yes! I was asked to create a design for the holidays. I actually had started this wreath pattern earlier in the year, hoping to design a spring wreath but never got around to finishing it. I though it would be the perfect holiday pattern so I got back at it and came up with this simple, yet fun wreath pattern!

Supplies

To create the Happy Holiday Wreath, you crochet around a metal ring to get the circle shape. Then you crochet curly branches all around it. It’s quite simple and it works up fast!

For the metal ring, you can use any size! I made a few wreaths using 7″ and 8″ rings, but you could use smaller or larger rings too! See below on how to adjust the pattern for different sizes.

You will also need yarn and a hook! I used Christmas colors for my wreath, light sage green for the branches and cherry red for the bow. I used I Love This Yarn in Light Sage and Red for one of my wreaths and Red Heart Super Saver in Light Sage and Cherry Red for another. Both these yarns worked great!

Some other yarns I would recommend for this pattern is Lion Brand Yarn Basic Stitch, Lion Brand Yarn Color Theory, and Yarn Bee Soft & Sleek. Feel free to use any medium (4) weight yarn you’d like though!

Adjusting the Size

To adjust the pattern for a different sized hoop, simply work an even number of single crochet (SC) around the ring for Round 1.

To adjust the lengths of the branches, chain any multiple of 3 + 1. The pattern instructions include 2 branches, Row 1 / Branch 1 uses a chain 10 to create a 2″ long branch. Row 2 / Branch 2 uses a chain 7 to create a 1.5″ long branch.
