Crochet Cucumber Pattern

Design Inspiration
This cucumber is the 19th pattern for the Pregnancy Progress Project! A cucumber is approximately the same size as a baby at 32 weeks of pregnancy! Not only is this a cute addition for tracking your pregnancy, it would also make an adorable toy for your kids or pets!
Notes
● Pattern is worked in the round. Use a stitch marker to keep proper count.
● Repeat instructions given between asterisks (*) until the end of each round
● The number in parenthesis at the end of each round states the total number of stitches for that round
● Final size is approximately 10 inches
Supplies
● Medium (4) Weight Yarn in Light Brown & Dark Brown
● Hook: 4.00 mm (G)
● Polyester Fiber Fill for stuffing
● 2 10 mm Safety Eyes (optional)
● Black embroidery or crochet thread for mouth (optional)
● Yarn Needle
● Scissors
● Stitch Marker
Abbreviations/Stitches (US Terms)
ST – Stitch
SL ST – Slip Stitch
CH – Chain
SC – Single Crochet
SC2TOG –Single Crochet Two Together
Pattern
Magic Circle, CH 1
Round 1: SC x7 inside circle (7)
Round 2: SC in each ST (7)
Round 3: 2 SC in each ST around (14)
Round 4: SC in each ST (14)
Round 5: *1 SC in 1st 2 STs, 2 SC in next* (21)
Round 6: SC in each ST (21)
Round 7: *SC in 1st 2 STs, 2 SC in next* (28)
Rounds 8-47: SC in each ST (28)
Add eyes between rounds 20 & 21. With crochet thread, make a “V” shape centered between the eyes for the smile.
Stuff with fiber fill.
Round 48: *SC in 1st 2 STs, SC2TOG* (21)
Round 49: SC in each ST (21)
Round 50: *SC in 1st ST, SC2TOG* (14)
Round 51: SC in each ST (14)
Round 52: SC2TOG x7 (7)
Round 53: SC in each ST (7)
Tie off leaving 6” tail. Weave tail through last 7 STs, pull tight and secure with a knot. Weave in ends.
